Lighting Workshop: Tips for Commercial and Weddings

Our lighting workshop will rotate attendees through 3 thirty minute mini-workshops

Interview Lighting with a one-man Crew

Camera and Steadicam operator Adam Smith will take us through lighting interviews professionally with a minimal set-up. He's been doing this for documentary programs nation wide.



Adam has worked on TV series that have aired on Discovery, Syfy, Chiller, and Velocity Channels as well as pilot programs for National Geographic and Discovery. He has worked with hundreds of companies and talented actors including Mel Brooks, Uber, O'Neill Surfing, Zippo Lighters, Triton Submarines, Sikorsky Aircraft, PECO, The Franklin Institute, and the National Constitution Center

Setting the Mood: Lighting a dramatic scene

Taavi Lehtimaki, an expert grip will make use of a classroom space at the community college to create a cinematic lighting set-up. Attendees will be able to hands-on adjust lights and view camera shots. 



Taavi Lehtimaki has worked in Grip & Electric for the last decade. He has lit dozens of commercials from NYC DOT PSA's to Geico and the History Channel. His music video credits range from Alicia Keys to the Foo Fighters. Taavi has worked on over 25 independent films and his television credits include How Do I Look?, The Blacklist, and Sonic Highways.

Lighting a Wedding Reception

Dave Williams, professional cinematographer and co-owner of CinemaCake Filmmakers  will talk about different ways to light a dance floor at a wedding reception. You can't miss this, you'll be leaving your on camera lights at home after this session! 



Dave starting filming professionally in 2001. He along with his talented staff have worked over 1,000 events around Philadelphia and throughout the country.
